Wheatgrass kits.com - a resource for sprouting kits, various types of sprout seeds, and other indoor gardening needs. I ordered my sprouting kit from them, and had a good experience.

Instructables.com - Do it yourself! From building a fire pit mastering a tricky recipe or catching a falling star.
Dictionary.com - Also includes a thesaurus. A very reliable and convienient way to make sure you know what you're talking about.
Who Called is a web page for cell phone or caller id users who want to know who is calling them when the name is not available.
Urban Dictionary - (NSFW) is a bit like a cross between wikipedia and a dictionary. You may not want to know the truths that you find there, but your curiosity will be relieved.

Survival Links

Wild Food Adventures - John Kallas is a true wild foods pioneer. He offers workshops for those in the Portland area, or those willing to travel. I took a workshop from him and it was very educational. I can't wait for his book to come out. He sells some materials on his website including a laminated seaweed identification chart.
11 Steps to Survival is a booklet distributed by the Canadian government on what steps to follow after a nuclear attack. There are many helpful hints on avoiding radiation poisoning from fallout.
Yahoo group Self_Sufficiency has many documents on surviving disasters, mainly nuclear in nature. As with most Yahoo groups you will need to join in order to access the files.
U.S. Army Survival Manual FM 21-76 is a more detailed survival manual for all kinds of situations. It's much longer but is a great resource.
Potassium Iodide can be useful to have in case of a nuclear emergency. Please read the previous link and be familiar with how to use it safely before buying.

National Geographic is doing a project to map human migratory patterns using DNA. It's not free to participate, but people who do, get to see where their ancestors came from. It's pretty cool.
Retouched Photos - Everyone should be made to sit down and watch this animation showing how photographs of celebrities and models are retouched to make them more flattering. It's one thing to know intellectually that the images we see in the media aren't real, but it's another to see for ourselves. The first link is SFW, but links from there on are not.
